(verses 1-13) </B></div> <div> <B>II.</B><B> The Physician. (verses 14-15) </B></div> <div> <B>III.</B><B> The Guide. (verses 16-17) </B></div> <div> <B>IV.</B><B> The Assayer. (verses 18-30) </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>It is while the prophet Jeremiah is dealing (under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit) with "The Guide" that a person reads about an ancient path that believers should always have an amazing passion for. (verse 16a) </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Never forget: Christians that don't delight in "old-time" religion will sooner or later desert "old-time" religion. (See II Timothy 3:10a) </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Friend, you and I (those of us that are saved) should have some things that we love about the "old paths" so that we never tragically leave the "old paths!" </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>There are three splendid things that the saint should have a passion for that are found on the path. (All found in Acts chapter 2) </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>I.</B><B> THE HEAVENLY ASSOCIATES. </B></div> <div> <B>A splendid thing that the saint should have a passion for that is discovered on the "old paths" is the heavenly associates. (Acts 2:41) It's those believers that have traveled the ancient lanes yesterday, believers have the honor of following on the very same ancient lanes today! If one looks hard enough, they can see ahead of them in the "old-time" way, Abel, Elijah, John the Baptist, Sam Jones, Billy Sunday and Tom Malone, Sr.! (Hebrews 13:7b) The heavenly associates! </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>II.</B><B> THE HOLY AGENDA. </B></div> <div> <B>A splendid thing that the saint should have a passion for that is discovered on the "old paths" is the holy agenda. (Acts 2:42) From this one verse the Christian learns what their program is to be from earth to eternity, CREED, COMPANIONSHIP and COMMUNION. By the way, fraternity is never to undermine the FAITH! (Amos 3:3) The holy agenda! </B></div> <bR> <div> <B>III.</B><B> THE HAPPY ATMOSPHERE. </B></div> <div> <B>A splendid thing that the saint should have a passion for that is discovered on the "old paths" is the happy atmosphere. (Acts 2:47) A benchmark of "old-time" religion has always been floor to ceiling and wall to wall true PRAISE and WORSHIP! God help any church when it starts the undertaker ministry! (Psalm 115:17) The happy atmosphere!</B></div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
