But they said, we will not walk therein.  Jeremiah 6:16</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>In the book of Jeremiah, chapter 6, we find the proclamation of God's sure judgments.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>This chapter could be effortlessly outlined like this:</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>I.  The Watchman (verses 1-13)</B></div> <div> <B>II.  The Physician (verses 14-15)</B></div> <div> <B>III. The Guide (verses 16-17)</B></div> <div> <B>IV.  The Assayer (verses 18-30)</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>It is while the prophet Jeremiah is dealing (under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit) with "The Guide" that a person reads a self-evident Scripture. (verse 16)</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Never forget: If the "old paths" is the "good way", then it will obviously produce a great work in a person's life.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Friend, you and I should be able to detect "old-time" evidence with an "old-time" encounter with God!</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>There are three arresting things "old-time" religion will do for an individual:</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>I.  IT WILL PUT YOU IN A PEW.</B></div> <div> <B>An obvious thing that the "old-time" religion will do for a person is place them in a pew. (Acts 3:1)</B></div> <div> <B>Conversion does not make one run FROM a fundamental church, but to a fundamental church. This kind of so-called "christianity" that you couldn't drag to church with a team of wild stallions is  Scriptural mutant!  (Psalm 122:1)</B></div> <div> <B>It will put you in a pew!</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>II.  IT WILL PUT YOU ON A PORCH.</B></div> <div> <B>An obvious thing that the "old-time" religion will do for a person is place them on a porch. (Acts 20:20)</B></div> <div> <B>Religion that does not reach out is, ROTTEN religion! Door-to door soulwinning, gospel tracts, and confrontational evangelism are not step-children to and "old-fashioned" encounter with God. (Luke 14:23)</B></div> <div> <B>It will put you on a porch!</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>III. IT WILL PUT YOU IN A POOL.</B></div> <div> <B>An obvious thing that the "old-time" religion will do for a person is place them in a pool. (Acts 8:36)</B></div> <div> <B>After I got saved, if you could have proven to me from the Bible that the next step of obedience was to swim the baptistery filled with crocodiles, I would have dove in! When someone receives the truth about being born-again they will receive the truth about BAPTISM! (Acts 2:41)</B></div> <div> <B>It will put you in a pool!</B></div> <bR> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
