"A PROSPEROUS JOURNEY"
Romans 1:10
Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
In the book of Romans chapter 1 we find the Apostle Paul ready for Rome.
This chapter could be effortlessly outlined like this:
I. Paul Presented His Credentials. (verses 1-7)
II. Paul Expressed His Concern. (verses 8-15)
III. Paul Affirmed His Confidence. (verses 16-17)
IV. Paul Pronounced Heaven's Condemnation. (verses 18-32)
It is while the Apostle to the Gentiles is dealing (under the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit) with "Paul Expressed His Concern" that a person reads a heart-captivating three word phrase. (verse 10)
The word "prosperous" means: experiencing good times. And the word "journey" means: movement to a rather distant place.
Friend, you and I can book a promising passage through this life!
There are three outstanding things from the life of the Apostle Paul that will grant a person a "prosperous journey".
I. FORGIVENESS FOR YOUR SIN.
An outstanding thing from the life of Brother Paul that will grant an individual a thrilling trip through this life is forgiveness for their sin. (Acts 13:38) This does not come from works, wash tubs or wafers, but the wonderful blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Calvary is the ONLY dock that one can launch from and be certain that they will land upon the shores of Glory! (Acts 4:12) Forgiveness for your sin!
II. FAITH FOR YOUR SAVIOUR.
An outstanding thing from the life of Brother Paul that will grant an individual a thrilling trip through this life is faith for their Saviour. (Acts 27:25) Your excursion to eternity will be much more enjoyable when you "BELIEVE GOD" in spite of the winds and waves that beat upon soul's ship. It is God's past 'track record' that gives me trust and rest for the present. (Psalm 77:14) Faith for your Saviour!
III. FORTITUDE FOR YOUR SERVICE.
An outstanding thing from the life of Brother Paul that will grant an individual a thrilling trip through this life is fortitude for their service. (Acts 28:23) Christians that really do something for Christ are the ones who regardless of the fact of being in a valley or on a mountain serve "morning til evening". GRIT will get you somewhere in your spiritual life. (I Corinthians 15:58) Fortitude for your service!
